Puppy Update

The puppies are super cute and growing fast. Their eyes are fully open and they’re starting to grow teeth. They’re walking around and each day we hear them experimenting with their voices. We hear little barks and growls. They’ve started playing together. They’re positively responding to human interaction. Ichiko was looking at me, I made a kissing sound and he started walking towards me. They are a bundle of joy.

Thank you Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital!

I just wanted to thank Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital for saving Hachikō and her puppies!

Hachikō went into labor around 3am and had her 10th puppy 7am which was really good for a first time mom having 13 puppies! Knowing a snow storm was coming I quickly ran down the mountain to get the snow tires put on our Subaru outback. Two hours passed and no more puppies… We knew she had at least two more.

We quickly drove the puppies and mother to Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital where the staff gave us a private room with a couch. Hachikō nursed while an ultrasound showed she had puppies still inside her.

Emergency surgery was given by some amazing, skilled, kind, and caring veterinarians. They were able to save hachikō and one of her puppies.

Thanks again!
